The brass|STUDENT PROGRAM

The brass|STUDENT PROGRAM is a classroom resource educators can use to teach students important personal finance skills. It is being provided at no cost to all of the state's public high schools, on behalf of Wisconsin credit unions.

The program consists of three components:

  • brass|MAGAZINE Student Edition
A young adult lifestyle money magazine that reaches out to high school students about the money side of life™. brass content is written for young adults by young adults.

  • brass|TEACHER RESOURCE CENTER
The TRC website offers a place where teachers can share and download complementing classroom activities. The site also has alerts about program updates and teacher workshops.

  • brass|STUDENT RESOURCE CENTER
The SRC website allows students to apply for credit union scholarships and submit original material to be considered for publication.

The program’s content supports Wisconsin’s Model Academic Standards for Personal Financial Literacy (state guidelines for what financial knowledge and skills students should have prior to graduation). The brass|STUDENT PROGRAM can be used on its own or in conjunction with existing personal finance curricula.
