Wisconsin credit unions' sponsorship of brass typifies their statewide REAL Solutions initiative, which helps families and communities, regardless of profit. By offering REAL Solutions, credit unions are teaching consumers to save, avoid financial predators, access low-cost loans, improve creditworthiness and build wealth.

Examples of other REAL Solutions include:

• Short term or payday loan alternatives that don’t charge excessive fees and interest
• Help with budgeting or debt
• Free classes on personal finance, e.g. credit, ID theft or home-buying
• Other programs they may offer to help members realize their financial goals
